LILO & STITCH MOVIE POSTER

CREATIVE PROCESS

Created in my Case Studies of Entertainment Marketing course, this project involved selecting an upcoming film and designing a teaser poster intended to build anticipation before release. Naturally, I chose the live action Lilo & Stitch. Because Stitch was one of my favorite characters growing up, I wanted the design to feel nostalgic to the original while creating excitement around seeing him brought to life again, using familiar visual cues that would immediately connect with audiences who already have a relationship with the character.

We were encouraged to incorporate AI tools into the process, and I used Gemini to generate the background because it gave me the postcard-like feel I was looking for. I wanted the poster to resemble a postcard to reinforce the nostalgic tone, while also connecting to the setting and warmth associated with the original film. For Stitch himself, AI was not producing the exact look I envisioned, so I digitally illustrated his face and fur on my iPad to create the texture, expression, and overall feel I wanted the final poster to have.

I then brought the final composition into Adobe Photoshop to refine imperfections, adjust details, and add the copy. For the typography, I chose a bold font that still carried a subtle tropical feel, so the title would feel strong and eye-catching while still matching the playful, island-inspired tone of the poster.
